The Number of Students Applying will Increase Due to IIT NIT Eligibility
The country’s largest education board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), has started the application process for class 12th improvement marks (Improvement Exam) from today, 9 September. The last date to apply has been fixed as 30 September.
This opportunity is very important for those students who want to get admission in IIT or NIT through engineering entrance exams like JEE Main and JEE Advanced but have not been able to meet the board eligibility criteria.
Education experts of ALLEN Career Institute say that every year the maximum number of students in JEE Main and JEE Advanced are from CBSE board. From the year 2020 to 2022, due to Corona epidemic and other reasons, the condition of board percentage for admission in IIT and NIT was relaxed.
But from the year 2024, this condition has been re-imposed that the student will either have to score a minimum of 75% marks in the class 12 board examination or be included in the top-20 percentile of his board. Therefore, this improvement exam has become very important for the students who have not been able to fulfill this eligibility.
This rule will remain in force even in 2026, so applying is necessary for all those who want to get admission in engineering institutes in future. Number of students applying will increase. Experts believe that this time the number of students applying for improvement examination will increase significantly.
Last year many students did not apply on time and later they were deprived of admission in IIT and NIT despite getting good ranks in JEE Main and JEE Advanced. This time such students would not want to lose this opportunity under any circumstances and will pay special attention to applying before the deadline.
CBSE Class 12 Improvement Exam 2026 is a golden opportunity for all those students who want to improve their board marks. Especially those students who want to make a future in the engineering field and aspire to get admission in prestigious institutes like IIT and NIT, they should not miss this opportunity under any circumstances.
Since the last date of application is 30 September, all the eligible students should complete the online application process in time. This time a large number of students will apply, which will increase the competition even more. Therefore, starting preparation from now will prove to be the key to success.
