NTA will Conduct the Country’s Second-largest Competitive Examination for Undergraduate Courses
The registration process has begun on the official CUET UG website, https://cuet.nta.nic.in/. The CUET UG 2026 exam will be conducted in online mode (computer-based test) from May 11 to May 31, 2026.
Career Counseling Expert at Allen Career Institute, explained that the above exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to all undergraduate courses in all UGC-affiliated central universities and other participating universities, institutions, organizations, and autonomous colleges for the academic session 2026-27.
CUET-UG Schedule
- Candidates can fill out their application form online on the official CUET UG website, https://cuet.nta.nic.in/, between January 3rd and January 30th. Fees can also be paid online through debit card, credit card, net banking, and UPI until January 31st.
- General category fee: ₹1000 for three subjects, plus an additional ₹400 for each additional subject.
- EWS/OBC non-creamy layer category fee: ₹900 for three subjects, plus an additional ₹375 for each additional subject.
- Fee for SC/ST/Third Gender/PwBD category – Rs. 800/- for 3 subjects selected and Rs. 350/- extra for each additional subject selected.
- If a candidate wishes to appear for this exam abroad, he/she will have to pay Rs. 4500/- for 3 subjects selected and Rs. 1800/- extra for each additional subject selected.
- Candidates can make corrections (if any) in their application form from 2nd February to 4th February in the correction window of the application form.
- The entrance exam will be conducted between 11th May to 31st May as per the subjects selected by the candidate and will be completely online.
Examination Details
- There will be a total of 37 subjects, including 13 languages + 23 domain-specific subjects + 1 general aptitude test.
- The exam will be conducted in 13 Indian languages: Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
- Language subjects: Language will be tested through reading comprehension (based on various types of passages – factual, literary, and narrative), literary aptitude, and speaking ability.
- Text comprehension (factual, literary, and narrative), literary aptitude, and speaking ability will also be tested.
- Domain subjects: Will be based on the NCERT syllabus.
- General Aptitude Test –: Questions will be from General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning (simple application of basic mathematical concepts, Arithmetic/Algebra, Geometry/Area/Statistics), Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
- Candidates can select a maximum of 5 subjects from the three sections given in Subjects/Languages.
- The syllabus will be as per Class 12.
- 5 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Each subject paper will have 50 questions. All questions are compulsory. The duration of each subject paper will be 60 minutes.
- Candidates should apply only once; submission of multiple applications will not be accepted and will result in cancellation of the result.
- While filling out the application form, candidates must upload their live photo and a recent scanned passport-sized photograph, which should be in color and show 80% of their face (including ears, without a mask) on a white background. The photograph should be between 10 KB and 200 KB in JPG/JPG format.
- The signature file should be in JPG/JPG format and between 10 KB and 50 KB in JPG/JPG format.
- A scanned copy of the identity proof (only for candidates who will verify their identity using methods other than Aadhaar or DigiLocker) should be between 10 KB and 200 KB in JPG/JPG format.
- The CUET UG 2026 exam will be conducted in a total of 306 Indian cities and 15 foreign cities.
