Know, How to utilize additional time offered by delay in board exams

The final board examinations were earlier held in February-March months but the bifurcation of class 10 and 12 examinations into term-1 and term-2 examinations and declaration of the term-2 examinations of class 10 and 12 from 26 April has provided additional time to the Board students.

Term-1 and Term-2 examinations will cater to the 50% syllabus each and the final score of the board examination of classes 10 and 12 will be evaluated on the basis of results of Term-1 and Term-2. As the CBSE Class 10 and 12 examinations will now be held from 26 April so the student will nearly get additional 2 months’ time.

PRIORITIZE USE OF ADDITIONAL TIME

Although board students have got additional time there is a dilemma before the board students overutilization this additional time.

Experts at Allen Career Institute are offering suggestions to the students to deal with the delay in board term-2 examinations.

Allen Experts think that the board students should take the delay in the board examination schedule in a positive stride as they will now get additional time to prepare for the board examinations.

Since the board examination schedule for the term-2 examination of classes 10 and 12 has arrived, the students should start their preparation for board examinations with immediate effect. Students should not leave any preparation for the gap duration between examination days and instead should keep their board preparation up to the mark irrespective of the gap duration.

BOARD EXAM-READY STUDENTS SHOULD FOCUS ON JEE/NEET PREPARATION

Those students of class 10 and 12 who have done their board preparation and are also aspirants of JEE/NEET then they should concentrate on the JEE/NEET preparation for the first month, i.e. February to March, and should do board preparation in the last month, i.e. March to April.

However, those students who have not made their best preparation for board examinations yet should focus only on the board preparation in the 2 months’ time till the completion of the board examinations and should not think about NEET/JEE preparation before the conclusion of the board examinations. Since the JEE/NEET Examinations are expected in the end of June, such board students can prepare for JEE/NEET in May and June months.

TIME MANAGEMENT

About time management, Allen experts advised synchronizing their time clock as per the available free time. Students should do dedicated study for atleast 8 hours daily who are not attending any classes for board or JEE/NEET preparation. Those students should study for atleast 12 hours a day, including the class duration, who are going to schools or coaching classes for JEE/NEET preparation.

Students should take sound sleep of atleast 8 hours daily and should take light meals for better study and health. Students should also make optimum utilization of the gap between the examination days.

PRACTICE FOR SUBJECTIVE QUESTIONS IN TERM-2 EXAM

The Board term-1 examinations of classes 10 and 12 were held in the objective pattern while board term-2 examinations of classes 10 and 12 will be held in subjective question patterns so students should prepare themselves for descriptive answers in the term-2 examinations.

Students should go through the old examination papers and solve them for better practice of the subjective type board examination paper.

Since there is a step-wise marking system in the term-2 examinations whereby marks are given as per the steps in which a descriptive answer is given so students should write whatever they know about the question instead of leaving it completely. If the students do not know the detailed answers, they should atleast write formulae or draw diagrams in the answers to grab some marks in the question.
