Computer Science branch closed on AIR 24,416 and AI branch closed on AIR 27,124
JoSAA counselling of IITs and NITs of the country including IIIT has ended and students have taken admission in their allotted IITs and NITs.
Along with this, the first semester of studies of all the engineering institutes of the country has also started. This year the first session of engineering has started on time.
Increasing popularity of IIIT Kota among students
According to the data released in all five rounds of JoSSA counseling, out of 26 IIITs, IIIT Kota was on 10th position in students’ choice.
Students first preferred the old IITs, which include IITs of Allahabad, Jabalpur, and Gwalior, whose Computer Science and IT branch closed at 15 thousand AIR in the open category from gender neutral pool quota.
After that CS and IT branch of IITs of Lucknow, Guwahati, Kanchipuram, Pune, Bhopal, and Vadodara closed at 23 thousand AIR. After all these IITs, students chose IIIT Kota and in the open category of IIIT Kota, Computer Science branch closed at 24,416, AI branch at 27,124 and Electronics and Communication at 34,167 AIR from gender neutral pool quota.
AI branch has started in IIT Kota this year only. It is worth mentioning that two years ago, IIT Kota’s classes were held at NIT Jaipur.
