IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi is the First Overseas Campus of IIT Delhi in Gulf
There is good news for overseas students as IIT Delhi has opened its first International campus in Gulf. The First Overseas campus of the coveted IIT Delhi has opened in Abu Dhabi. Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammad formally inaugurated the IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus.
The first batch of the new IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi centre comprise of the 52 students who were selected through the JEE Advanced 2024 Examination and CAET.
The IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi is a joint venture of its parent campus IIT-Delhi, and top higher education institutes in Abu Dhabi which include Zayed University, Mohammed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, Khalifa University and Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, and Zayed University. IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus was launched through an inaugural ceremony.
The joint strategic partnership will promote academic programs, faculty exchanges, and research programs. IIT Delhi is a prestigious technical education institution of India which prepares youth for engineering, entrepreneurship, and innovations. The Crown, Sheikh Khaled also paid a visit to the campus.
IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi centre authorities informed the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi about the different engineering programs including computer science, engineering and energy courses.
A joint agreement was signed among the Abu Dhabi department of Education and Knowlege, Ministry of Education of India, and the IIT Delhi in the presence of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi and President, Sheikh Mohommad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in July 2023.
One of the objective of opening IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi is to foster global education and research excellence. The first batch of the IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi comprised of the 52 students who were selected on the basis of the score of JEE Advanced examination and Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET). The students hailed from India, Emirates and students from other countries.
