There are currently two national education boards operating under the Ministry of Education, Government of India:

NIOS – This board provides education through open and distance education.

CBSE has clarified that studying for grades 10 and 12 is actually a two-year program.
Class 10 – This includes both grades 9 and 10.
Class 12 – This includes both grades 11 and 12.
This means that if a student wishes to appear for the board exams, they must study all subjects for two consecutive years.
