According to JEE-Report, These Were the Most Difficult and Easiest Questions of the Exam

Many interesting facts related to the exam have come to light in the JEE Advanced 2024 report released by IIT Madras. The difficulty level of the questions of this exam, which is considered to be the most difficult in the country, has also come to light. There are many questions which 60 percent of the students did not attempt.

Career counseling expert of Allen Career Institute informed that according to the report, a total of 1 lakh 80 thousand 200 students appeared in both the papers in JEE-Advanced exam. According to the statistics released regarding the questions, there were many questions which were not attempted by more than 1 lakh 20 thousand students out of the total students.

Difficult Questions in Mathematics

In Mathematics Paper-1, 80 percent of the students did not attempt the 3D coordinate geometry question. This question was the most difficult. Along with this, 60 percent of the students did not attempt the questions of Limit, Probability, Trigonometry, Ellipse, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry and Matrix. In Paper-2, more than 1 lakh students did not attempt the questions of Area, Undercurve, Functions and Limit.

Difficulty of Physics

In Physics Paper-1, 82 percent of the students did not attempt the Geometrical Optics question. Apart from this, more than 1 lakh 20 thousand students did not attempt the questions of Magnetism, Waves on Strings, Geometrical Optics. In Paper-2, more than 1 lakh students did not attempt the questions of Gravitation, Magnetism, Electrostatics, and Fluid.

Difficult Questions in Chemistry

More than one lakh students did not attempt the questions of Biomolecule, Atomic Phenol, Electro Chemistry in Paper-1 of Chemistry. More than one lakh students did not attempt the questions of P-Block and Electro Chemistry in Paper-2. All these questions are in the category of most difficult as more than 60 percent of the students did not attempt them.

Most Wrong Answers Were Given to These Questions

According to the report, more than 50 percent of the students gave wrong answers to some questions in all the subjects of Paper-1 and Paper-2. Out of 17 questions in each subject in Paper-1, 5 were wrong in Mathematics, 6 in Physics, 6 in Chemistry, while in Paper-2 also, out of 17 questions, 8 in Mathematics, 9 in Physics and 6 in Chemistry were wrongly answered by more than 90 thousand students.

These Were Easy Questions

According to the report, many such questions also came up whose correct answers were given by most of the students. In Paper-1, most of the questions like Circle, Coordinate Geometry in Mathematics, Unit and Dimension, Heat and Thermodynamics in Physics, Coordination Compound in Chemistry, Chemical Bonding were answered correctly by most of the students.

Similarly, in Paper-2, questions like Inverse Thermodynamic Function, Limit, Vector in Mathematics, Electro Statics, Atomic Structure, Aromatic Compound, Coordination Compound, Salt Analysis in Physics were answered completely correctly by most of the students.

This Was the Paper Pattern

In the year 2024, JEE-Advanced exam was of total 360 marks, in which Paper-1 and Paper-2 were of 180-180 marks. Marking of Physics, Chemistry, and Maths was 120-120 marks.

The number of questions in both Paper-1 and Paper-2 was 51 each, in which each subject had 17 questions. Out of the 17 questions asked in each subject, 4 questions were multiple choice questions, 3 questions were multiple select questions, 6 questions were non-negative integer and 4 were matching list based.
