The JEE Advanced 2025 Exam will be held on 18 May 2025
JEE Advanced 2025 is a gateway to admission in the undergraduate programs of the 23 premier IIT institutes of the country. Aspirants have to take JEE Main examination first to qualify for writing the JEE Advanced Examination 2025. The Top 2.50 lakh aspirants of the JEE Main Examination can appear for the JEE Advanced examination.
JEE Advanced 2025 Exam Details
The IIT Kanpur will conduct the JEE Advanced 2025 Examination. The JEE Advanced 2025 examination will be held on 18 May 2025 across several examination centres in the country.
The registration for the JEE Advanced 2025 will commence on 23 April 2025 and the last date for registration will be 2 May 2025. The JEE Advanced 2025 will comprise of 2 Papers and each paper will cover Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
While the JEE Advanced 2025 Paper 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 noon, the Paper 2 will be conducted from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. The JEE Advanced examination will be conducted in examination centres across 222 cities in India and 2 cities abroad.
Exam Pattern
The JEE Advanced Examination includes a mix of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), numerical answer type questions and matching type questions.
The syllabus for JEE Advanced examination includes a deep understanding of concepts, problem-solving skills, and knowledge application in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. There is negative marking for the incorrect answers in the JEE Advanced examination.
JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility
Candidates must qualify the JEE Main 2025 cut off percentile and be among the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main 2025 candidates to qualify for taking JEE Advanced examination.
An aspirant can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in two consecutive years which means that the candidates who passed class 12 in 2024 or who will pass Class 12 in 2025 will be eligible for taking JEE Advanced.
The JEE Advanced Examination can be attempted twice, however, there is a condition to it this year.
Although the aspirants of JEE Advanced 2023 examination cannot appear for JEE Advanced 2025 but following a Supreme Court ruling on January 10, candidates who appeared in 2023 and dropped out of their course between November 5 and 18, 2024, are now eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2025.

Admission
In 2024, a total of 17740 seats were available across 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for admission through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) which were 355 seats more than previous year.
