Which branch will be available in which IIT on which rank

ALLEN Counseling Expert told that after the result of JEE-Advanced 2025, the biggest curiosity among students and parents is about the selection of college and branch. Every student wants a good IIT along with his/her favourite branch.

Students whose All India rank is under-100 are likely to get Computer Science in top IITs including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Madras. If we look at the first choice of students, IIT Mumbai CS branch remains top preference, which closes at top-61.

After this, students give second priority to Delhi CS. Third priority is given to Computer Science branch of Kanpur and Madras. Between 100 to 500 rank, one can get MNC, AI, Data Science in Delhi, Kanpur, Electrical branch in the top four IITs, and CS in Kharagpur.

Between 500 to 1000, there is a possibility of getting CS in BHU, Roorkee, Hyderabad, Guwahati, and core branch in Mumbai, Delhi, and Kanpur.

Students securing ranks between 1000 to 4000 are likely to get Computer Science in IITs of Gandhinagar, Indore, Rupnagar, Mandi, Jodhpur, Dhanbad, Patna, Bhubaneshwar and other branches other than Computer Science in Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur and IITs like Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Aerospace, Production etc.

Between 4000 to 8000, there is a possibility of getting Civil, Chemical, and Metallurgy in Roorkee, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Hyderabad, Varanasi and lower branches in Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur, Madras, CS in Palakkad, Tirupati, Goa, Dharwad, Bhilai, and Jammu.

Students securing rank between 8000 to 12000 are likely to get core branches in Ropar, Mandi, Indore, Gandhinagar, Jodhpur, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Dhanbad as well as branches like Biological Science, Naval Architecture, Mining Engineering, Polymer Science, Ceramic Engineering in the old seven IITs.

Students securing rank between 12 to 17 thousand are likely to get other branches in new IITs like Palakkad, Tirupati, Goa, Dharwad, Bhilai, Jammu.

The chances of getting a branch in IIT at the above rank vary according to the category. Also, due to the 20 percent female pool quota given to girl students, the chances of getting a branch in the above IIT increase to a much lower rank.

Counseling Expert told that such students whose JEE-Advanced All India Rank is much lower, have the option of applying in IIPE Visakhapatnam, Rajiv Gandhi Petroleum, IISER, IIST on the basis of JEE-Advanced. The application process for all these institutes has already started.
