JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Date Announced

IIT Roorkee will conduct the JEE Advanced 2026 Exam

JEE Advanced is considered the most important exam for millions of students who dream of admission to the country’s prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

This exam offers admission to a total of 18,160 seats across 23 IITs. According to the latest update, the 2026 JEE Advanced exam will be held on Sunday, May 17th.

The details below explain all the key points related to this year’s exam, the organizing body, JEE Main dates, and the previous rotation system.

Who will conduct JEE Advanced 2026?

Career counseling expert at ALLEN Career Institute, informed that IIT Roorkee has been assigned the responsibility of conducting the exam this year.

The official website for JEE Advanced 2026 was updated late Friday night, formally announcing the exam date and the name of the organizing institute.

As per the rotation record of the past 20 years, the same IIT is responsible for conducting the exam again every six years. In the same vein, IIT Roorkee conducted the exam six years ago. In 2025, this responsibility rested with IIT Kanpur.

JEE Main 2026 Dates Already Announced

The dates for the JEE Main exam, which will be held before JEE Advanced, have already been released. The exam will be held in two sessions:

  • First Session: January 21 to 30
  • Second Session: April 1 to 9

Students are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced based on their JEE Main results and rankings, so these dates are crucial for students’ preparation strategies.

Why the Delay in the Announcement This Year

Typically, the JEE Advanced dates are released in November each year. However, this time the announcement was made in the first week of December. This change was made possible due to internal exam-related processes and the formalities of selecting the conducting body.

With the official announcement regarding JEE Advanced 2026, the preparation direction for students has become more clear.

  • The exam date has been confirmed.
  • The organizing body has been determined.

Now it’s time for students to finalize their preparations and move forward with a proper study plan.
