The registration process of the country’s most coveted engineering entrance examination, JEE Advanced for the year 2024 was completed on May 7, Tuesday. By late evening, more than 1.91 lakh students had registered for this examination. Admit cards will be issued on May 17. After this, this examination will be held on May 26 in two shifts from 9 to 12 in the morning and from 2.30 to 5.30 in the afternoon.

Till now the maximum number of students have applied for JEE-Advanced 2024 in the history of JEE Advanced Examination. Last year (2023) the number of JEE Advanced registration was 1.89 lakh, which has now increased to 1.91 lakh this year, and it is also expected to increase further.
If we look at the records of JEE-Advanced in the last 11 years, this number is the highest. In the past years, there were 126749 registrations in the year 2013, 126995 in 2014, 1.24 lakh in 2015, 155948 in 2016, 171814 in 2017, 165656 in 2018, 174432 in 2019, 160838 in 2020, 151193 in 2021, 160038 in 2022, 189744 in 2023 and more than 1.91 lakh student registrations in 2024.
This year, IIT Madras is organizing this examination for 17 thousand 385 seats in 23 IITs of the country. Through this examination, admission is given in 23 IITs of the country along with 6 campuses of IISE, IEST, Rajiv Gandhi Petroleum, IIPE Visakhapatnam, and IISER.

After the release of JEE-Main results, there are thousands of students whose results were not as per their expectations. Such students can apply for admission in many engineering institutes other than NIT-IIIT on the basis of JEE-Main.
Among these, you can apply for major institutes like Kalinga, SRM, UPS, MIT Pune, Bennett, Shiv Nadar Noida, Narsee Monjee, UPES, Amrita, BITS, Manipal. Apart from this, students with low AIR Ranks in JEE-Main can also apply for prominent Universities like Thapar, JP, LNMIIT, Dhirubhai Ambani, IPU, Nirma, PDPU, LPU, Chitkara, Chandigarh etc.
Students with ranks in lakhs in JEE-Main also have the possibility of getting admission on 15% seats of the engineering institutes of many states on the basis of JEE Main Score. These engineering institutions belong to Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, MP, UP, Gujarat, Odisha, West Bengal, and Maharashtra.
