After the result of JEE-Advanced 2024, the biggest curiosity among students and parents is about the selection of college and branch. Every student wants a good IIT along with his/her favourite branch.
Students whose JEE-Advanced All India Rank is very low have the option of applying to IIPE Visakhapatnam, Rajiv Gandhi Petroleum, IISER, IIST on the basis of JEE-Advanced. The application process for all these institutes has already begun.
Students have been given the opportunity to fill choices of more than 600 programs of 121 institutes only once in JoSAA counselling, so students should fill the options of as many colleges as possible in the descending order of their preference.
Students can estimate the trend of choosing colleges by looking at the opening and closing ranks of the colleges of the previous years.
Students should also include the college branches which are ranked below the closing rank of the previous years as per their rank in the college preference list as per their interest.
Before filling the colleges in JoSAA counselling 2024, prepare the list of colleges of your preference on paper and after evaluating it, fill it online so that there is no possibility of mistake.
Students must check before locking the college choice because after locking it, changes will not be possible in it. The first allotment will be done from open rank
As per the business rule given by JoSAA counseling, the first seat allocation to all the students will be done on open rank only whose college seat allocation is filled according to their rank.
If a seat is not available on open rank, then category students will be allotted college seats according to their category rank. In this way, category students can get seats from both open and category as per their rank.
After seat allocation in JoSAA counseling, students will have to scan and upload 10th, 12th mark sheet, category certificate, photocopy of cancelled cheque, medical certificate etc. in online reporting.
EWS and OBC students will have to submit category certificates after April 1, 2024. Otherwise their category will be cancelled and seats will be allotted from open rank.
