JEE Main 2023 Session 1 – NTA Allows Correction in State Code of Eligibility & Category

NTA has Taken the Decision in View of Representations of the Aspirants

National Testing Agency (NTA) in its fresh notification has allowed correction in State Code of Eligibility and Category filled in the Online Application Form of JEE (Main) – 2023 Session 1. The JEE Main exam 2023 Session 1 was conducted throughout the Country and abroad on 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, 31 January and 1 February 2023 in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

NTA Opens Correction Window on Aspirants’ Plea

NTA has asserted that correction has been allowed due to the receipt of a few representations from the candidates regarding giving them an opportunity to edit/modify their State Code of Eligibility and Category in the Online Application Form of JEE (Main) – Session 1, In the interest of the students, NTA has decided to provide an opportunity to the candidates for modifying their State Code of Eligibility and Category in the Online Application Form of JEE (Main) – 2023 Session 1.

The State code of eligibility means the code of the State from where the candidate is appearing in/ has passed Class 12 (or equivalent) qualifying examination by virtue of which the candidate becomes eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2023 and eligible to get admission in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. It is important to note that the State code of Eligibility does NOT depend upon the native place/permanent address or the place of residence of the candidate.

Correction Allowed Latest by 5th February

If a candidate has got wrong State code of Eligibility in his/her Admit Card as per the above criteria, then he/she can change the State Code of Eligibility in the Online Application Form as per the schedule given below:

JEE (Main) – 2023 Session 1 03 February to 05 February 2023 (up to 5:00 P.M.)

The candidates are allowed to make the corrections, latest by 05 February 2023 (up to 5:00 P.M.). Thereafter, no correction in particulars, whatsoever, will be entertained by NTA under any circumstances.

It is a final opportunity for the candidates before the declaration of the result to avoid any hardship to them, so the candidates are advised to do the correction very carefully, as no further opportunity for correction will be given to the candidates.
