JEE Main 2024 Session 1 – Hurry Up! Last Day to Challenge Provisional Answer Key

The Window to Challenge Provisional Answer Key of JEE Main 2024 Session 1 is Still Open

National Testing Agency (NTA) had released the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main January) 2024 Session 1 provisional answer key, question papers and recoded responses, first, on 6 February and then later a revised provisional answer key, question papers and recoded responses on 7 February following a technical glitch in its server.

In its earlier notification issued on 6 February, NTA had given the opportunity to the aspirants to challenge the provisional answer key upto 11 pm on 8th February. In its latest notification issued on 7 February, NTA has extended the date to challenge the JEE Main answer key. Now the aspirants will be able to challenge the provisional answer key of JEE Main 2024 Session 1 upto 11 pm on 9 February.

As per the NTA notification, aspirants can challenge the Provisional Answer Keys (if any) online by paying a non-refundable processing fee of ₹ 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) per question challenged. The payment for the processing fee may be made through, Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking till 09 February 2024 (up to 11:50 PM). No challenge will entertained without receipt of the processing fee. The fee towards the challenge will not be accepted through any other mode.

For those candidates who might have challenged the answer key without the appropriate Question ID / Option ID, may challenge again. Their former fees will be refunded soon. These candidates have also been informed through e-mail / SMS.-

If challenge(s) made by the candidate is found correct, the Answer Key will be revised and applied in the response of all the candidates accordingly. Based on the revised Final Answer Keys, the result will be prepared and declared. No individual candidate will be informed about the acceptance/non acceptance of his/her challenge. The Keys finalized by the Experts after the settlement of the challenge will be final.

Procedure for Challenge of JEE Main 2024 Session 1 Answer Key

  • Please go to the website https://jeemain.nta.ac.in/
  • Click ‘Challenge (s) regarding Answer Key’
  • Login with your Application Number and Date of Birth enter the Security PIN as displayed and Submit.
  • Click ‘Challenge (s) regarding Answer Key’
  • You will see the Question IDs in the below sequential order for JEE (Main) – 2024 Session 1 (January 2024)

Paper 1: B.E./B.Tech

30+30+30 Questions

Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry

Paper 2A: B.Arch. (If applied)

30+50 Questions Mathematics/Aptitude Test
Paper 2B: B.Planning (If applied) 30+50+25 Questions Mathematics/Aptitude Test/Planning-based Objective Type MCQs
  • The ID next to the question under the column ‘Correct Option’ stands for the most appropriate Answer Key by NTA.
  • If you wish to challenge this option, you may use any one or more of the Option IDs given in the next four columns by clicking the check box
  • You may upload supporting documents for which you can select ‘Choose File and Upload (all documents to be put in a single PDF file).
  • After clicking your desired option, for Mathematics / Physics / Chemistry for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.), Mathematics / Aptitude Test for Paper 2A (B.Arch.), and Mathematics / Aptitude Test / Planning for Paper 2B (B.Planning), scroll down and ‘Save you claim’ and move on to the next screen.
  • You will see a display of all the Option IDs you have challenged.
  • Click on ‘Save your claim and Pay Fee finally’.
  • Select the Mode of Payment and Pay a non-refundable processing fee @ ₹ 200/-for each question challenged. Make payment through Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking.
