Last Chance to Change Category as Correction Window Open Now
More than 16 lakh 35 thousand students have applied this year in the country’s largest engineering entrance exam JEE-Main 2025, which is the highest application in the history of JEE-Main.
It is worth mentioning that earlier 13 lakh 78 thousand students had applied for JEE-Main January session and more than 2 lakh 60 thousand new unique candidates have applied only for the April session exam. In such a situation, the number of students appearing in the April exam will be more than 12 lakh.
Career counselling Expert of ALLEN Career Institute said that keeping in view the interest of the students, the last option of correction has been given to the students by NTA.
During correction, students can make changes in course, medium of paper, state code of eligibility, exam city, 10th and 12th qualification details, gender, and category. The opportunity for correction is till 28th February.
This correction option of NTA has brought relief to lakhs of students of the country who had applied under open category during January JEE-Main session due to non-availability of category certificate and now wants to change the category after the category certificate is available.
Along with this, there are a large number of students who had previously applied under the OBC and EWS categories and now want to apply under the open category as they do not have category certificates of post 1st April 2025 date.
Career Counsellor has advised the students that this is the last chance for correction and after this, they will not get any chance for correction. In such a situation, these lakhs of students of the country will have to qualify for the JEE-Advanced exam and participate in the further counselling process in IIT, NIT on the basis of the final category filled during the application.
Therefore, students should make any correction, after thinking thoroughly, before changing the category so that later they do not get into any trouble during counselling and also the seat allotted on the basis of their category is not cancelled.
