NTA Made Changes in the Press Release; There was a Mistake in the Gender Data

The Criteria for Determining AIR Due to Tie of Score Changed After Two Years

There has been a change in the determination of rank, after two years, in case of ties in the higher NTA scores of students. This year 7 criteria were determined, in which if the total NTA scores of two students are equal, then the NTA score of Mathematics is first seen in determining the All India Rank.

If this is equal, then Physics, then Chemistry NTA score, then the ratio of the number of correct and incorrect answers is seen. In this situation, if there is a tie, then the ratio of the number of correct and incorrect answers of Mathematics subject wise is considered, if there is a tie here also, then the ratio of the number of correct and incorrect answers of Physics is considered, if there is a tie in that, then the ratio of the number of correct and incorrect answers of Chemistry is seen.

In case of ties in all the above criteria, the same All India Rank of the students was released, in such a situation, this year many students came forward, who had a perfect score of 300 out of 300 and all of them were given All India Rank-1.

NTA Corrected the Error in the Data

Compared to last year, there has been a change in the eligibility cut-off of JEE-Advanced this year. Last year the cut-off of the open category was 93.2362181. Along with this, the press release issued by NTA on Friday night was changed and re-issued on Saturday.

In the press release issued earlier, there was a mistake in the data of the students registered and appearing in the exam. The number of girl students was shown as the number of boys. Also, there was a change in the number of students appearing for the exam in both the sessions, which created doubts on the results released by NTA. The release was re-issued after correcting it.

Maximum Number of Students Appeared in the Exam

According to the data released by NTA, a total of 15 lakh 39 thousand 848 unique candidates were registered for both the sessions of JEE-Main exam, out of which 14 lakh 75 thousand 103 students appeared in the exam.

7 lakh 75 thousand 383 students appeared in the exams of both the sessions. Out of the total number of students who appeared in the exam, 9 lakh 73 thousand 784 were boys and 5 lakh 01 thousand 319 were girls.
