JEE Main 2025 Session 1 (29 Jan) Paper Analysis by ALLEN

Physics, Chemistry were Moderate, Maths was Difficult

The fifth and final day of the first session of the country’s largest engineering entrance exam JEE Main-January 2025 for admission to BE-BTech courses in engineering institutes across the country including Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) was held in computer based mode on Wednesday. Dr. Brajesh Maheshwari, Director of ALLEN Career Institute Private Limited, said that the paper has been analyzed on the basis of students’ feedback.

According to the information received from the students, the physics paper in the morning on the fifth day was conceptual. Inorganic had more weightage in chemistry. While the maths paper was moderate and lengthy like the previous paper. While in the evening shift, Physics and Chemistry were moderate and Maths paper was difficult.

Chemistry

In the morning shift of Chemistry, most of the questions were asked from Physical Chemistry. In which questions were asked from Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Liquid Solution, Chemical Equilibrium, Atomic Structure and Mole Concept.

In Inorganic Chemistry, one question was asked from Periodic Table, three questions from Coordination and two questions from D Block. Compared to the previous paper, the weightage of Organic Chemistry was less in this paper. In Organic, questions were asked from AUPAC, GOC, Acid Base Strength, Alkyl Halide, Mixed Questions of Carbonic Compound and Aromatic Compound and Biomolecule. In the evening shift, some questions were asked from Advanced Level.

Due to which students took time to solve the paper. In the morning and evening shifts, 26 percent questions were asked from Inorganic, 31 percent from Organic, 35 percent from Physical Chemistry and 8 percent questions were asked from all three chemistries. In the evening shift, the weightage of Organic and Physical Chemistry was more.

Physics

The morning shift paper was moderate and conceptual. Two questions were asked from Work Power Energy, three from Elasticity, Heat and Thermodynamics, three from Geometry Optics, Electromagnetic Waves, Kinematics from Modern Physics, EMI, Unit and Dimension and other topics. In the evening shift, the paper was moderate like the morning.

In which two questions were asked from Geometrical Optics, Unit Dimension, Center of Mass, Elasticity, Heat and Thermodynamics, Capacitance and Modern Physics. One question each was covered from other topics.

Maths

The level of the morning shift paper was lengthy like normal days. In which 36 percent questions were asked from Calculus, 32 percent from Algebra, 16 percent from Coordinates, 16 from 3D Vectors and 4 percent from Statistics and Relation. The evening shift was more difficult than the morning shift.

In which 32 percent questions were asked from Calculus, 32 percent from Algebra, 16 percent from Coordinates, 12 from 3D Vectors and 4 percent each from Trigonometry and Statistics and Relation.
