JEE Main 2026 Registration: Update Aadhaar Card, Category Certificate and Other Documents as Per NTA Guidelines Now
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory for lakhs of candidates planning to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026.
Students preparing for the exam have been advised to ensure their required documents are correct and updated before the registration process begins in October 2025. Any errors in the documents may result in the application being rejected or serious difficulties in the admission process.
According to the information released by the NTA, JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two sessions.
First session in January 2026
Second session in April 2026
Online application forms for the first session will be available on the NTA’s official website [jeemain.nta.nic.in] (https://jeemain.nta.nic.in) in October 2025.
This exam is crucial for students seeking admission to prestigious engineering institutes such as NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutes. It also serves as a basis for appearing in the JEE Advanced exam for admission to IITs.
It is often observed that during the application process, discrepancies in students’ documents, such as name, date of birth, address, or category certificate, are found. In such cases, applications are rejected or complications arise later in the admission process.
NTA has clarified that students should check their documents now and update them promptly if any corrections are required. This will avoid unnecessary stress and hassles when registration begins.
The NTA has also advised students to regularly visit the [nta.ac.in] (https://nta.ac.in) and [jeemain.nta.nic.in] (https://jeemain.nta.nic.in) websites. Registration dates, admit card release dates, exam patterns, and other important information will be made available on these portals.
Eligibility for IITs: Passing the JEE Main is mandatory to appear for the JEE Advanced.
Education experts believe that students preparing for the JEE Main should focus on two aspects:
For students planning to appear for JEE Main 2026, this is the time to correct and update their documents. Important documents such as Aadhaar cards, category certificates, and UDID cards for disabled candidates should be checked and corrected in a timely manner. Additionally, candidates should keep an eye on every notice issued on the official website.
If students prepare thoroughly before the registration process begins, they will not face any difficulties later.
