JEE Main 2026 Online Application Process Begins for Session 1 Exam

Know Complete Details about the Registration Process

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the online application process for the much-awaited Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2026 Session 1.

Candidates who wish to appear for the January session exam can apply by visiting the official website [jeemain.nta.nic.in](https://jeemain.nta.nic.in). Candidates need to register by clicking on the “New Registration 2026” link provided in the “Candidate Activity” section.

JEE Main 2026 Application Process: Important Dates

  • Start of Online Application: November 1, 2025
  • Last Date for Application: November 27, 2025 (until 9 PM)
  • Last Date for Fee Payment: November 27, 2025 (until 11:50 PM)
  • Exam Date (Session 1): January 21 to January 30, 2026
  • Admit Card Release (Expected): First week of January 2026
  • Exam Centre Information: Will be available in the first week of January 2026

Candidates should note that this application is only valid for Session 1 (January 2026). A separate opportunity to apply for Session 2 (April 2026) will be provided later.

Candidates who wish to appear only for the April session exam can register when the application form is released again.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Language Options

NTA will conduct the exam in 13 languages this year – English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

JEE Main 2026 Session-2 (April Session) Information

The Session-2 exam will be conducted between April 1 and April 10, 2026. The application process for this session will begin in January 2026.

Candidates who applied in Session 1 will not need to obtain a new application number; they can log in again with the same application number and pay the fee.

Institutes Participating in JEE Main 2026

Based on the JEE Main 2026 exam results, candidates will get admission to prestigious technical institutions across the country through JoSAA counselling, including—

  • Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)
  • National Institutes of Technology (NITs)
  • Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs)
  • Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs)

JEE Main 2026 Session-1: Online Application Process

Candidates can apply by following these steps—

  1. Visit the official website [jeemain.nta.nic.in](https://jeemain.nta.nic.in).
  2. Click on the “JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Registration” link.
  3. New candidates must register by selecting the “New Registration 2026” option.
  4. After registration, fill out the application form and upload the required documents.
  5. Pay the application fee as per the prescribed category.
  6. Submit the form after checking all the details.
  7. Download the Confirmation Page and save a printout for future reference.
