NTA has released cumulative examinant data regarding the aspirant participation in the Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.)
The Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) of JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination have concluded after which National Testing Agency (NTA) has released statistics related to the Paper 1 Examination. The Paper 1 examination of the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 were held from 21st to 24th January and then on 28th January. The Paper 2 (B.Arch./B.planning.) is being held today, 29th January.
NTA in its latest information has stated that a total of 13,50,969 candidates had registered themselves for the Session 1 examination. Out of these registered candidates, 13,00,368 candidates appeared for the Session 1 examination. NTA has asserted that the attendance of aspirants in the Paper 1 of Session 1 of JEE Main 2026 Examination was 96.26%. Meanwhile, 4314 PwD candidates appeared in the Paper 1 of Session 1 examination.
The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Exam were scheduled to held from 21st to 29th January. B.Tech./B.E. Paper was Paper 1 and B.Arch./B. Planning was Paper 2. While the B.E./B.Tech. Paper 1 examination was held on 1, 22, 23, 24, and 28 January, 2026, B.Arch./B.Planning Paper 2 is being held today, 29th January 2026. The Paper 1 Exam was held in 2 shifts each day, whereas the Paper 2 is being held in 1 shift only. The Paper 1 Shift 1 took place from 9 am to 12 noon, the shift 2 timing was 3 pm to 6 pm.
The Paper 2 is underway only in 1 shift from 9 am to 12.30 pm today. The Paper 2 of JEE Main 2026 session 1 is being held in pen and paper-based test (PBT) for drawing section in B. Arch. The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination was conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The examination was held in several cities across the country as well as 15 cities abroad. The Second session of the JEE Main 2026 will be conducted from 1 April to 8 April 2026.
The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination results are expected to be released by the second week of February 2026. However, before the results, the National Testing agency will release question paper, recorded responses and provisional answer key. Final answer key will be released along with the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 result.
