JEE Main 2026 Session 1 – Know Important Instructions Before the Exam

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Examination is Commencing from 21st January

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination is near and you want to know what items are mandatory to carry to the exam centre along with your admit card, then this blog is essential for you. Details in the Admit Card?

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 admit card contains various information and instructions.

The first page of admit card contains your personal information, such as:

  • Candidate’s Name
  • Father’s and Mother’s Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Roll Number and Registration Number
  • Photo and Barcode
  • Exam City, Centre, and Shift Information

Below this are three separate columns:

  1. Left Thumb Impression
  2. Candidate’s Signature
  3. Passport Size Photograph

Note: Signatures must be made in the examination hall; do not sign in advance. The photo must be the same as the one you uploaded in the application form.

Second Page of Admit Card: Important Instructions

The second page contains important instructions and warnings related to the examination. It is very important to read them carefully, as violating any rules may result in disqualification from the examination. This page also lists what should and should not be carried into the examination centre.

Important Items to Carry to the Examination Centre

Only limited items are allowed in the examination hall. The following items must be carried:

  1. Admit Card (Printed Copy)

The admit card must be clearly and legibly printed.

  1. Original Photo Identity Card

Only original ID proof is valid. Such as:

    • Aadhaar Card
    • Passport
    • PAN Card

Photocopies are not valid; carrying photocopies may result in disqualification.

  1. Transparent Ball Pen

The pen must be completely transparent. Opaque pens are not permitted. It is best to carry two transparent ball pens.

  1. Transparent Water Bottle

Only transparent bottles are permitted.

  1. Additional Passport-Size Photographs

Keep at least 8 copies of the same photo you uploaded on your application form.

This photo will also be useful in the following:

 Next exam

  • Counseling process
  • Other document verification

Documents required in special circumstances

Some candidates need to carry additional documents: Candidates filling the form with ID other than Aadhaar

If you used a document other than Aadhaar card while filling the form, you must bring a Photo Identification Certificate verified by the school principal or a gazetted officer.

PWD candidates

If you have a PWD certificate, it is best to reach the exam centre at least one hour before the start of the exam.

Photo or Identification Problems

If your photo is blurred or there may be an identity problem, arrive at the exam center an hour beforehand so that the issue can be resolved in time.

Why it is important to arrive at the exam centre on time

The gates of the exam centre are closed half an hour before the start of the exam. If you arrive late, you will not be allowed entry under any circumstances, even if your mistake is minor.

It is therefore advisable to:

  • Arrive at the exam centre at least 45–60 minutes before the start of the exam.
  • Take into account traffic and other delays.
  • To avoid any problems on exam day, it is important to have all the necessary documents and supplies ready in advance. Admit card, original ID proof, transparent pen, water bottle, and photo—nothing else is required.
  • Arrive on time, follow instructions, and take the exam with confidence.
