JoSAA Counselling 2024 First Seat Allocation on 20th June

If Student Does Not Report Online After Getting a College, Then the Student Will Be Out Of JoSAA Counselling Process

JoSAA is conducting Joint Counselling for 59917 seats in 121 colleges including IIT-NIT, IIIT and GFTI of the country, which includes 17740 seats of 23 IITs, 24229 seats of 32 NITs, 8546 seats of 26 IIITs and 9402 seats of 33 GFTIs.

The first round of seat allocation of this joint Counselling 2024 will be released on June 20 at 10 am. Students who will be allotted seats in any college in the first round seat allocation will have to report online between June 20 and 24.

Student will be out of Counselling if not Reported Online

Students who will be allotted seats in the first round, are required to deposit the seat acceptance fee by reporting online, otherwise they will be out of the further Counselling round.

Students will have to deposit the seat acceptance fee by choosing the option of freeze, float and slide at the time of online reporting.

This fee has been kept at Rs 35000 for general, EWS and OBC, Rs 17500 for SC-ST and physically handicapped students. After depositing the seat acceptance fees, students will have to scan and upload the required documents.

Among the required documents, the student will have to scan and upload the mark sheet of class 10th and 12th, category related documents, medical certificate, cancelled copy of bank cheque, JEE-Main or JEE Advanced admit card.

OBC and EWS students will have to scan and upload the category documents of post 1 April 2024. The allotted seat will be confirmed only after the uploaded documents are verified by the JoSAA Verification Authority.

Students will have to respond to the information about the deficiency in the documents by 25th June and complete the deficiency; otherwise their allotted seat will be cancelled.

Students Should Understand the Meaning of Counselling Options

Students will be given the option of freeze, float and slide in online reporting. If the student is satisfied with the seat allotted in the first round and does not want to participate in the JoSAA counselling of the next round, then he can choose the freeze option.

Also, those students who want to participate in the next JoSAA counselling will have to choose the option of float and slide.

Through the float option, the student will get the opportunity of upward movement to any college branch filled in the college preference list during choice filling above his allotted college and through the slide option, the student will get the opportunity of upward movement to the branch of the same college filled in the college preference list above his allotted college.
