If Candidate Does Not Report Online After Getting a College, He Will be Out
Joint counseling is being conducted by JoSSA for 62853 seats in 127 colleges of the country including IIT-NIT, IIIT and GFTI, which includes 18160 seats of 23 IITs, 24525 seats of 32 NITs, 9940 seats of 26 IIITs and 10228 seats of 47 GFTIs. The first round of seat allocation of this joint counseling will be released at 10 am on 14 June.
Students who will be allotted seats in any college in the first round seat allocation will have to report online between 14 June and 18 June. Education Expert, Allen Career Institute, said that students who will be allotted seats in the first round are required to report online and deposit the seat acceptance fee, otherwise they will be out of the further counseling round.
Students will have to deposit the seat acceptance fee by choosing the option of freeze, float and slide at the time of online reporting. This fee has been kept at Rs 30 thousand for general, EWS and OBC, Rs 15 thousand for SC-ST and physically handicapped students.
After depositing the seat acceptance fee, students will have to scan and upload the required documents. Among the required documents, the student will have to scan and upload the mark sheet of class 10th and 12th, category related documents, medical certificate, cancelled check copy, and JEE-Main or Advanced admit card. OBC and EWS students will have to scan and upload the category documents after 1 April 2025.
The allotted seat will be confirmed only after the uploaded documents are verified by the JoSAA Verification Authority. Students will have to respond to the information about the deficiency in the documents by 19th June and complete the deficiency; otherwise their allotted seat will be cancelled.
Students Should Understand the Meaning of Counselling Options
According to expert, students will be given the option of freeze, float and slide in online reporting. If the student is satisfied with the seat allotted in the first round and does not want to participate in the counselling of the next round, then he can choose the freeze option. Also, those students who want to participate in the next counselling will have to choose the option of float and slide.
Through the float option, the student will get the opportunity of upward movement to any college branch filled in the college preference list during choice filling above his allotted college and through the slide option, the student will get the opportunity of upward movement to the branch of the same college filled in the college preference list above his allotted college.
