Here’s Detailed Guide About JoSAA Counselling 2025
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the JoSAA Counseling Schedule for the JoSAA counselling commencing from 2 June. The JoSAA Counseling process, which is conducted for admission to B.Tech. courses in IITs, NITs, Triple ITs and GFTI institutes, has been introduced with a new structure this year.

The official schedule of JoSAA counselling 2025 is now available on the JoSAA website. This year, the counselling process will have six rounds, which will run from June to July. Candidates are required to fulfil the following eligibility criteria to participate in JoSAA counselling:
Minimum Marks in Class 12: Candidates must have at least 75% marks or top 20 percentile in Class 12 for general category candidates. For reserved category candidates, the limit is 65%.
Performance in JEE Main and JEE Advanced: Candidates must have appeared in both JEE Main and JEE Advanced and cleared the prescribed cut-off.
The following documents will be required during JoSAA counselling:
Choice Filling Process: Candidates should prepare a list of their preferred institutes and courses in a priority manner. This process will be available on the JoSAA website.
Prioritization: Candidates should prioritize the institutes and courses in which their interest and eligibility match.
Mock Seat Allotment: Mock seat allotment process will be conducted by JoSAA, which will give candidates an idea of the probable seat allotment based on their choice filling.
Admission can be taken in the following major institutes through JoSAA counselling:
IITs: premier technical institutes of the country.
NITs: Nationally reputed institutes.
IIITs: Institutes specialising in Information Technology.
GFTIs: Other government-funded technical institutes.
There are limited seats available for different branches in each institute. Candidates should evaluate the possibility of seat allotment based on their preferences and rank.
Time Management: It is very important to follow the deadlines in the counselling process. Keep all the required documents ready on time.
