CS Closing at AIR 1071 in Top 9 IITs
After the completion of JoSAA Counselling of IIT-NIT and IIIT of the country, now the students are seen completing the final admission process for admission in their allotted colleges. In the fifth round of JoSAA Counselling, students are reporting online in different ways for final admission in the allotted IIT and NIT.
This year also joint Counselling was conducted by JoSAA for a total of 17760 seats in 23 IITs of the country. According to the data released after the completion of all five rounds of Counselling, the craze of Computer Science branch among the students remains intact this year also.
Computer Science branch of top IITs remained the first choice of toppers. This year, the closing AIR for Computer Science branch from open to gender neutral pool in top 9 IITs was 1071, in which the most preferred branch was IIT Mumbai Computer Science.
All its seats were filled by students securing top 68 ranks from open at all India level. IIT Delhi was at second place, in which students securing top 116 ranks took admission.
At third place was IIT Madras, top 159 took admission in it, to 252 took admission at IIT Kanpur, top 415 at IIT Kharagpur and top 481 at IIT Roorkee, top 623 at IIT Guwahati, top 656 at IIT Hyderabad and top 1071 rankers took admission in CS branch of IIT BHU.
Apart from this, if we look at the status of students taking admission in Computer Science branch in all 23 IITs, then the last admission in IIT from open to gender neutral pool in this branch was possible at 6516 rank. This admission was taken in IIT Bhilai. Also, Computer Science branch was allotted in IIT Bhilai at 12108 rank in female pool quota from open itself.

Why is there Huge Demand for Computer Science?
The main reason for students choosing Computer Science branch is the increasing scope of CS as well as placement in good companies on big packages.
Also, through this branch, students choose good options in the country and abroad for further studies in the future. CS students also get priority in selection by the best foreign institutes.
Students are making their career in the fields of web developer, software testing, database analyst, business analyst, system designer and networking engineer etc. with Computer Science branch.

NIT IIIT Fees will have to be Deposited Between 24th and 26th
The students who have been allotted NIT, IIIT and GFTI, will first have to confirm their seat by paying partial admission fee between 24th and 26th July. Otherwise, their allotted NIT seat will be cancelled. This partial admission fee has been kept at Rs 45 thousand for General, OBC and EWS and Rs 20 thousand for SC-ST.
Students who want to participate in CSAB Counselling do not need to report physically to any allotted NIT IIIT right now. On the contrary, students who are satisfied with their allotted NIT IIIT seat can deposit partial admission fee and get the information related to the documents required for final admission in the allotted NIT system colleges and the remaining college fees from the colleges’ website.
