JoSAA Counselling 2025—Know IIT & NIT closing Ranks for Boys & Girls

Second Round Reporting till June 29

JoSAA counseling 2025 is going on for 62,853 seats in 127 institutes including IITs and NITs of the country. Students can do online reporting after second round of seat allocation till June 29 at 5 pm.

Students whose documents uploaded during online reporting are found to be deficient will have to respond to the query received by July 1 at 5 pm, otherwise their seat will be cancelled.

IIT closing at AIR 16,642 for boys and 25,549 for girls

According to career counselling expert of Allen Career Institute, in the second round of JoSAA counselling, a student with rank 13 lakh 14 thousand 967 from gender neutral pool quota has been allotted mechanical branch from home state quota in NIT Mizoram in open category.

Along with this, the closing rank of IIT from gender neutral pool quota was 16 thousand 642 which is of Intradisciplinary Science five-year branch of IIT Dharwad. On the other hand, a student with rank 12 lakh 10 thousand 797 including super numerical seats from female pool quota has got Maths and Computing branch from home state quota in NIT Mizoram in open category.

Also, the closing rank of IIT from female pool quota was 25 thousand 549 which is of Intradisciplinary Science five-year branch of Dharwad.

Dual verification

According to experts, the documents uploaded in the first round of seat allocation of those students, who have been allotted IIT to NIT and NIT to IIT seat in the second round, are being verified again from the newly allotted system.

Only after that their newly allotted seat will be confirmed. On the contrary, the students who have already been allotted seats and have opted for float and slide have been allotted IIT to IIT and NIT to NIT seat in the second round and their new seat has been confirmed on the basis of their previously verified documents.

All these students will not be able to make any claim on the seat allotted to them in the first round if a new seat is allotted. All these students are also not required to upload documents again in online reporting.

Students can participate in further counseling by changing the float option to slide and freeze and the slide option to freeze in each round of counseling.
