The First Mock Seat Allocation List has been Published Based on the Choices Filled by Students Until June 14 at 8 PM
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has announced the first mock seat allocation results for 2024. Students can view the JoSAA 2024 seat allotment outcome on the official website – josaa.nic.in.
To access the counselling portal, students need to log in using their JEE Main 2024 application number and password.
Those who registered for JEE Advanced 2024 should use their respective application number and password.
Candidates who did not register for JEE Main 2024 but applied for JEE Advanced 2024 should use their JEE Main 2023 application number.
Today’s release of the first round of mock seat allotment will be followed by another mock seat allocation list on June 17. Registration and choice filling for academic programmes under JoSAA 2024 will conclude on June 18.
Students who receive seat allocations in the first round of counselling must accept their seats by uploading all required documents, including educational and caste certificates if applicable.
Subsequently, they must pay the seat acceptance fees within the stipulated deadline. It’s essential to retain a printout of the final locked choices for submission during reporting.
For those wishing to withdraw their seats, this can be done from the second round up to the fifth round of seat allocation, prior to the final round.
Provisional Seat Offer and Confirmation:
- Candidates are responsible for regularly logging into the portal to check for seat allocations in each round. No separate intimation will be provided. Failure to complete all steps of “Online Reporting” within the specified timeline will result in seat cancellation, thereby excluding candidates from subsequent rounds.
- Upon allocation, candidates must download the “Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip” which outlines the seat allotment details and steps for confirmation.
- The seat acceptance fee is Rs 17,500 for SC, ST, GEN-PwD, GEN-EWS-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD, or ST-PwD categories, and Rs 35,000 for all other candidates (including Rs 5,000 processing charges). The accepted fee (excluding processing charges) will be adjusted against the admission fee.
Verification of Seat Allotment:
- If a candidate who accepts a seat in the NIT+ system is subsequently allocated a seat in an IIT in later rounds, their documents and eligibility will be verified again by the IITs.
- Allocation of a seat in an IIT in subsequent rounds automatically replaces the earlier NIT+ seat. Candidates do not need to cancel the earlier seat; doing so would be treated as rejection, excluding them from further processes.
- JEE (Advanced) 2024 qualified PwD candidates with a valid UDID card indicating permanent disability are exempt from physical verification, except if online verification of the UDID card fails.
- JEE (Main) 2024 qualified PwD candidates with a valid UDID card indicating permanent disability may also be exempt from physical verification, subject to specific conditions outlined on the JoSAA portal. However, if online verification of the UDID card fails or if special restrictions apply to their allocated academic program, they must undergo physical verification.
- Physical verification is required for candidates with less than 40% disability who face difficulties in writing and have used compensatory time or the services of a scribe (applicable only for IITs).
