One Mahesh Kumar Deega of Kota Defied Physical Challenges to Accomplish Dream of Becoming Doctor

For the people who give up in life and get demotivated after facing challenges in life, Mahesh is an example and inspiration. He cannot walk on his own but he has stepped ahead in the journey of accomplishing his dream of becoming a doctor through his strong will.

Due to 75% physical disability since childhood following a surgery side-effect, he has developed weakness in his lower legs and cannot walk on his own. However, he did not give up and used walkers to attend offline classes in preparation of NEET UG at ALLEN Career Institute of Kota.

He has cracked NEET UG 2024 with top rank in the PwD category and is presently studying in AIIMS Bhopal. This is the inspirational story of one Mahesh Kumar Deega (18) who is a local boy of Kota.

Tragedy Could Not Deter Mahesh from Dreaming Big

Mahesh told that he had undergone a surgery for correction of esophagus gap in AIIMS New Delhi when he was just around 4 months. Due to overdose of the anesthesia, his lower limbs became weak forcing Mahesh to use walkers and wheelchairs to attend his school and coaching.

I was given 50 ml dose of anesthesia instead of 5 ml dose during surgery in childhood, he stated. “Now I have 75% physical disability and I cannot walk on my foot alone and need support”, he said. I attended offline classes at ALLEN for NEET UG Coaching using walkers.

Parents Motivation

Mahesh is suffering 75% disabilities since childhood but he has shown tremendous grit and resolve to pursue education. It is the parents of Mahesh Kumar Deega who motivated him on every path of challenges.

Mahesh’s father is a government servant while mother is a house-wife. “It is my parents who always urged him to study and achieve big in life”, he said. Mahesh has an elder and a younger sister.

Achieved Feat in Studies

Mahesh passed class 12 with 76% marks with 86% marks in science so his parents asked him to prepare for NEET UG for which he took admission in ALLEN Achiever Batch.

I walked through walkers to attend offline classes at ALLEN Career Institute Kota. With the guidance and teaching of the faculty, Mahesh scored 507 marks in NEET UG 2024. He has scored Top Rank in Scheduled Tribe PwD category and PwD Category.

Studying in AIIMS Bhopal

After cracking NEET UG 2024, Mahesh is now studying in AIIMS Bhopal. I am attending my classes at AIIMS Bhopal on wheelchairs. On his future plans, he said that he has not thought about it yet and first wants to complete his MBBS.

He said that he want to become a doctor and help people like him.

Mahesh honored at the ALLEN Victory Carnival

Mahesh was honored at the ALLEN Victory Carnival which was held today (25 December) at Kota Dussehra Ground. Mahesh came from Bhopal to attend ALLEN Victory Carnival.
