New Tie-Breaking Rules for NEET-UG 2024, Check Here

The National Testing Agency has been conducting the NEET-(UG) since 2019 and it has announced to open registrations for the NEET UG 2024 from 9 February, Friday.  NEET (UG) is a Common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions in India.

Apart from the NEET-UG 2024 registration information, NTA has also announced new Tie-breaking rules for NEET-UG 2024. As per the previous NEET tie-break rules till NEET-UG 2023, scores in biology (zoology and botany), chemistry and physics– were considered and in that order.

If the tie continued, negative marks would become a factor. If the scores still remained equal, age was a factor with the older candidate getting the higher rank.

However, now NMC has changed the tie-breaking rules for NEET-UG from NEET-UG 2024. It has announced that in case of tie in NEET-UG 2024 marks, the respective marks obtained in physics followed by chemistry and then biology will be considered and in that order.

If the tie continues, then eligible candidates will be selected from the draw lots by using a computer, with no human intervention. These rules will be applicable from NEET UG Exam 2024.
