Know Do’s and Don’ts for the Coveted NEET UG 2025 Exam, Exam on 4 May

You must have already taken many major and minor tests, but now you have to focus on certain points in the next 7 days to make your performance the best. So let’s know what to do and what not to do in the coming seven days, so that you can perform better in the NEET exam.
1. What to do in the Coming 7 Days?
- Set a daily routine
- Start the routine you want to follow on the day of the exam from now.
- Take proper sleep of 6-7 hours at night, so that your mind remains fresh.
- Avoid the habit of staying awake all night and sleeping all day.
- Solve one mock test daily. This will strengthen your preparation and increase confidence.
2. Maintain a Positive Attitude
- “As you think, so will be the result” – keep your thinking positive.
- Say to yourself every day, “I am the best” and “No one knows more than me”.
- Self-confidence and positive thinking can improve your performance four times.
3. Adopt a Right Diet
- Eat dry fruits, it provides freshness and energy to the mind.
- Eat dark chocolate in limited quantity, it increases mood and energy.
- Take light and healthy food.
- Avoid cold drinks and roadside juices.
4. Take Care of Health and Food Habits
- Take special care in summers, especially in states like Rajasthan, the risk of heat stroke can increase.
- Avoid going out during the day, if you have to go then cover your head.
- Stay hydrated and take natural drinks like coconut water, buttermilk.
5. Fix a Time Table (from 2 pm to 5 pm)
- Set your biological clock according to the exam time. The NEET UG exam will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm
- By following this routine for seven consecutive days, your hormonal balance will be right and you will perform well during the exam.
What Not to Do Before the Exam?
1. Keep Distance from Social Media
- Avoid rumours found on social media, such as the paper will be difficult or the cutoff will be high/low.
- Getting entangled in these things can distract your attention and affect your preparation.
2. Stay in Touch with Positive People
- Talk only to those people who motivate you.
- Keep distance from those who spread negative thinking and confusion.
- Maintain communication with parents, teachers and mentors.
3. Do Not Get Disappointed with the Mock Test Result
- It is normal to get more or less marks in the mock test.
- Keep the real focus on your preparation and do not compare with others.
Important things Before Reaching the Exam Centre and Taking the Exam
Check the name and location of the school carefully.
Sometimes there are schools with the same name in the same city, like “Tagore Public School” or “Kendriya Vidyalaya”, which may have multiple branches. In such a case, avoid overconfidence and check the correct location and arrival time in advance.
Pay special attention to the reporting time
- Reach the centre before the reporting time to avoid any panic.
- Prepare in advance to reach on time.
Health-related preparations
- If you are on any medication, keep a medical kit ready, so that there is no last-minute panic.
- Follow the dress code
- Follow the dress code given on the admit card and make sure you wear simple, comfortable clothes.
Exam Day Preparation: Important Tips and Strategies
- Use Rough Work Correctly
- If a question does not appear in the first round of the exam and you have calculated it elsewhere, it is important to identify the rough work when you return to the question in the second round. This will save time and help you arrive at the correct answer.
- Keep yourself in an isolated system
- Avoid external distractions to keep yourself in a state of peace and concentration during the last days. If there are some external distractions during the exam, isolate yourself from them and focus only on the exam.
