MCC Released info About Medical Seats

There are About 115900 Seats of 775 Colleges in the Country

MCC has shared information about 775 medical colleges participating in the central counseling for MBBS admission, in which admission is to be given on 115900 MBBS seats. AIIMS also has 2182 seats in these.

MBBS/BDS counseling is being started by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) from today (July 21) under 15% All India Quota. The registration process will start from today while choice-filling will start from July 22.

Career Counseling expert said that at present MCC has not released the counselling brochure, but the list of medical institutes participating in the counselling process has been released. The number of participating institutes and seats can be released in this.

There are 775 medical colleges in this list across the country in which admission is to be given on 115900 MBBS seats. AIIMS also has 2182 seats in these. However, the seat matrix has not been released yet for central counselling in which how many MBBS seats of which institute will get admission through 15 percent quota through central counselling will be revealed.

Before choice-filling, check the eligibility conditions for admission to MBBS seats of AIIMS and JIPMER, which are among the most prestigious medical institutes of the country.

These eligibility conditions are different from other medical institutes. 12.36 lakh candidates have been declared qualified on the basis of medical entrance exam NEET UG 2025 to participate in counseling.

Counseling Schedule

The seat verification process of the first counseling will start from 18 to 19 July and the registration process will run from 21 July to 28 July 2025. Between 22 July to 28 July 2025, students will have to fill their choice of medical, dental and nursing colleges as per their wish.

For this, students will also have to pay the prescribed fee which can be done through online debit card, credit card and internet banking. Choice locking will be done on 28 July 2025, seat allotment process will be done on 29 to 30 July 2025 and seat allotment letter will be issued to the selected students on 31 July 2025.

Students will have to report to the allotted college with their documents and fees between 1 August 2025 to 6 August 2025. After this, MCC will verify the data of the joining candidates on 7th and 8th August.

432 government and 343 private institutions in the first round

MCC has uploaded the information along with college and seat intake for the first round on the website according to which there are 432 government or government society medical colleges, which have 60636 MBBS seats. Out of which 343 private and trust medical colleges have 55264 seats, while the number of medical colleges given by the National Medical Commissioner on its website is 780.

The number of MBBS seats is also shown as 118148. MCC has stated about the released 115900 MBBS seats in 775 medical colleges in the first round. These include Gayatri Vidya Parishad Visakhapatnam, Jawaharlal Medical College Belgaum, National Capital Region Institute Meerut, Father Colombo Institute Warangal, Index Medical College Indore and many other medical colleges, in which the number of seats is said to be zero.

According to the information of the first round

432 Government Colleges: 60636 seats

343 Private Colleges: 55264 seats

2182 seats in AIIMS, maximum 150 in Jodhpur

Along with this, admissions are also going to be given on 2182 MBBS seats of 20 AIIMS of the country through counseling. Jodhpur has the highest number of seats in AIIMS at 150 and after that Delhi has 132. Whereas Vijayawada, Patna, Raipur, Deoghar, Bhopal, Nagpur, Bhubaneswar, Gorakhpur, Rishikesh, Kalyani Nadia have 125-125 seats.

Apart from this, Rajkot Bilaspur and Madurai AIIMS have an intake of 50-50 seats. On the basis of NEET UG 2025, 12.36 lakh candidates have been declared eligible to participate in counselling.
