Seat Allocation for the Fifth and Final Round on July 17
There is a possibility of maximum upgrades in the last and fifth round of JoSAA Counselling. In this round, the maximum allocation is done on the seats left by IIT because those students who have to appear for JEE Advanced in the year 2025 have left their allotted seat by the fourth round.
Also, in this round, the maximum upgrades happen in NIT seats, so in the final round, the branch wise seats of IIT-NIT will get upgraded in the order of AIR.
Seat allocation for the final and fifth round of joint seat Counselling conducted by JoSAA for 59917 seats in 121 colleges of IITs, NITs, TripleITs and GFTIs of the country will be released on July 17 at 5 pm.
Students who will be allotted a seat in any college for the first time will have to report online by 5 pm on July 22.

There will be different admission process for final admission in IIT and NIT allotted to the students in the fifth round of JoSAA Counselling.
Students who will be allotted final IIT seats in the fifth round will have to complete the admission process through physical reporting by getting information about the remaining college fees and necessary documents on the website of the allotted IIT.
The dates of physical reporting of each IIT are also different. On the contrary, the students who have been allotted NIT, IIIT and GFTI will have to first confirm their seat by paying partial admission fee between 24 to 26 July. Otherwise, their allotted NIT seat will be cancelled.
This partial admission fee has been kept at Rs 45,000 for general, OBC and EWS and Rs 20,000 for SC-ST. After paying the partial admission fee, students will have to obtain information related to the documents required for final admission in the allotted NIT system colleges and the remaining college fees from the college websites.
