Registration Process and Dates
Centre Registration:

Eligibility Criteria

NSEP, NSEC, NSEB, and NSEA:
Student should be studying in class 10, 11 or 12 on the exam date (30 November 2025).
Date of birth should be between 1 July 2006 to 30 June 2011 (both dates inclusive).
Exam based on CBSE India syllabus up to class 12.

NSEJS:
Student should be studying in class 8, 9 or 10 on the exam date.
Date of birth should be between 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2012 (both dates inclusive).
Exam based on CBSE India’s General Science syllabus upto Class 10.
Examination Pattern
Similar Pattern for all subjects (NSEP, NSEC, NSEB, NSEA, NSEJS):
Number of Questions: Approximately 70
Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Time Duration: 2 Hours
Language: English (Also in regional languages at some centres)
Marking System:
Full marks for each correct answer
Negative marking may apply in some questions
Syllabus:
NSEP, NSEC, NSEB, and NSEA: Class 12 level (CBSE)
NSEJS: Class 10 Level (CBSE)
The level of questions is to test reasoning, analytical thinking and clarity of concepts.
Selection Process and Way Forward
- Phase I: NSE Exam
- Phase II: INO (Indian National Olympiad) — for selected students
- Phase III: OCSC (Orientation Cum Selection Camp)
- Phase IV: Pre-Departure Training Camp
- Final Phase: International Olympiad (IOAA, IPhO, IChO, IBO, IJSO)
