The career counseling expert of ALLEN Career institute said that therefore this decline will not be seen in the next round. This time, student will get a government seat in MBBS with 525 marks i.e. up to 27 thousand rank in counseling.

According to expert, last year 40 colleges were not included in the first round of counseling, they were included in the second and third rounds. In the first round, five government colleges of Rajasthan, including Jhunjhunu, Nagaur, Baran, Banswara and Sawai Madhopur, were not there.

Similarly, there were 10 colleges in UP. Apart from this, 10 colleges were not there in Maharashtra. Now in the year 2025, all these colleges have been included in the first round of counseling. 15 percent of the All India Quota seats of these colleges have been included.

This decline has come in all categories. It is believed that the cut-off also goes down due to increase in government seats in medical colleges. The same has happened this time as well.

Difference between First and Last Round Seat Allotment in 2024

Last year in 2024, the first round had a very high cut off, but it saw a significant drop in the second and third rounds. Because 15 percent of the All India quota seats of the new government medical college were added to it, there was a big difference in the seat allotment of the first and last round.

This time in 2025, this difference is not going to come much. During the first round counseling, 1587 NEET UG All India Rank in General Category has fallen from last year to this year on government MBBS seats. Because in the year 2024, where the closing rank of the first round was 19603, in 2025 it was 21190.

If we talk about NEET score on these ranks, then the first round cut off has gone down by 126 marks from last year. Last year, candidates with 660 marks were allotted the last seat in the first round. Whereas this year, candidates with 534 marks have also got government MBBS seats.
