MCC has Issued a Notice Notifying Eligibility for Seeking Admission on Foreign Quota Seats in AIIMS
Regarding admission eligibility on Foreign National Seat Quota in AIIMS, the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has issued a notice for foreign and NRI candidates participating in the counselling.
MCC in its notice has asserted that as per the instructions received from the competent authorities of AIIMS, NRI candidates will not be given seats under the foreign student quota, which means NRI students will not get admission on foreign quota seats.
The notice has provided information about the eligibility for admission to MBBS seats in foreign quota in AIIMS.
According to the notice, only those candidates of foreign or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) category will be considered eligible for admission to MBBS seats in Foreign National seat quota who have a foreign passport or citizenship or can deposit the prescribed fee in foreign currency will be considered eligible.
MCC has stated in the notification issued that candidates of three categories will not be eligible for counseling on foreign quota seats.
These students category include Indian, NRI and NRI sponsored candidates. If a candidate is allotted a seat on a foreign quota MBBS seat during MCC counseling, but the candidate is unable to provide the necessary eligibility documents during reporting, then the AIIMS administration will cancel the admission of such a candidate.
AIIMS New Delhi has 7 MBBS seats for foreign candidates. The fee for admission to these seats is 75 thousand US dollars. This fee will have to be paid in three equal installments in the pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical phases.
