The Final Revised Result of NEET UG 2024 has been declared on the Official Website of MCC
The final revised result of NEET UG 2024 has been announced on the official website of MCC. Following the Supreme Court’s decision to dismiss petitions seeking cancellation and re-test of the NEET UG 2024 Examination, NTA revealed the revised final result on exams.nta.ac.in.
The merit list has been updated by accepting the answer recommended by a panel of three experts from IIT Delhi for a contentious physics question.
NTA acknowledged two options as correct for the Physics question and awarded full marks to candidates who selected either option.
As per the Supreme Court’s directive, candidates whose answers align with the IIT Delhi experts (option 4) will receive 4 marks, while those who chose the answer based on the old NCERT textbook (option 2) will have 5 marks deducted from their NEET UG 2024 scorecards.
This adjustment has impacted the rankings of over 4 lakh candidates, including 44 NEET UG 2024 top scorers who received grace marks for the question.
Earlier, NTA had released centre and city-wise results of NEET UG 2024 on its website on 20 July. Initially, results were declared on 4 June 2024 after the NEET UG 2024 Examination on May 5.
Subsequently, due to allegations of irregularities and paper leak, several petitions were filed in the Supreme Court seeking cancellation and re-test of the NEET UG 2024 Exam.
On 23 July, the Supreme Court ruled against cancelling the examination and dismissed the plea for a re-test.
While NTA has published the revised final result of NEET UG 2024, MCC and other state counselling authorities will soon commence the counselling process for undergraduate admissions.
The schedule for NEET 2024 counselling will be available shortly on mcc.nic.in. Previously, NTA had indicated the commencement of NEET UG 2024 counselling by the third week of July 2024.
