Now the Session of Medical Colleges will start from September 22
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a big update for the candidates of NEET UG 2025. On Monday afternoon, MCC released a notification on its official website and announced the revised schedule of the second round All India Quota (AIQ) MCC released Revised Schedule.
According to this new schedule, now the academic session of medical colleges across the country, which was earlier scheduled to start from September 5, 2025, has been extended to September 22, 2025.
This revised schedule will be applicable to all the institutions which come under MCC Counselling – like 15% All India Quota seats, Central Universities, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), JIPMER, Deemed University, ESIC Medical College, AFMC Pune and Central Institute of Nursing.

According to Parijat Mishra, career Counselling expert at ALLEN Career Institute, Kota, the second round Counselling process will start from September 3, 2025.
Students will be able to pay fees through debit card, credit card or internet banking.
Candidates who are already registered will not need to register again or deposit security deposit.
Students will be able to choose medical, dental and nursing colleges of their choice as per their preference.
Choices have to be locked on September 9.
Reporting has to be done in the allotted college with documents and fees.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has also announced the joint schedule of All India Counselling and State Level Counselling .

According to the revised schedule, this year’s medical session was earlier proposed from 5 September 2025. But now it has been decided to extend it to 22 September 2025.
This step has been taken so that all the students get enough opportunity to report to their seats on time and complete the admission process.
Students who have taken seats in the first round and have chosen the upgrade option will only have to do choice filling and locking.
Candidates registered in the first round will not need to register again.
If a candidate does not report on time after college allotment, his seat may be cancelled.
Admission will be recognised only after the document verification process and fee payment.

Parijat Mishra, Counselling expert at ALLEN Career Institute, said that the revised schedule will give students extra time, so that they can take better decisions based on their choice and available options. Also, the joint schedule of state level and all India counselling will help students avoid confusion.
He also said that every stage in the counselling process is important—registration, choice filling, locking and reporting—students should not be careless at any stage.
