23 Lakh Estimated Candidates Would Sit for 2 Lakh 50 Thousand Seats in Various Medical Courses
The country’s biggest medical entrance exam, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2025), will be organized by the National Testing Agency on 04 May, Sunday between 2 pm to 5 pm. Through this exam, admissions will be given to approximately 2 lakh 50 thousand seats in medical, dental, AYUSH, veterinary and selected nursing colleges across the country for various courses.
An estimated 23 lakh students have registered for this entrance exam. Entry to the examination centre will start at 11 am and will continue till 1.30 pm. No entry will be given to the aspirants at examination centre after 1.30 pm under any circumstances.
Examination Details
Career counseling expert of Allen Career Institute, said that the exam will be completely on pen and paper mode. This exam will be held for a total of 2.50 lakh seats of medical courses including 118190 seats of 780 medical colleges of MBBS, 27618 seats of 323 colleges of BDS, 55851 seats of AYUSH courses (BAMS, BHMS, BYMS, BUMS) and BVSc and selected BSc nursing colleges.
Last Minute Instructions for the Exam Day
Candidates should bring their original IDs like Aadhar Card, valid identity proof approved by the government, PAN Card / Driving License / Voter ID / 12th class Board Admit Card or Registration Card / Passport / in which the photo of the candidate is visible, any one of these ID Proofs should be carried along.
Aadhar Card has been given prominence by NTA as the original ID, its photocopy will not be valid under any circumstances. Students will also be given pens at the centre. Personal transparent water bottle, and if someone is handicapped, then the certificate related to it will have to be taken. Do not bring any kind of electronic device, mobile phone, Bluetooth device with you at all to the exam centre.
According to the admit card guidelines issued by NTA, it is mentioned on page number 3 to bring the original updated copy of the Aadhar card. Carry the original and a xerox copy of the updated Aadhar card with you.
First complete the admit card cum self-declaration undertaking of the exam properly, in which the candidate has to paste the photo (as uploaded in the application form). Candidates should bring a postcard size photo with them to the examination centre by pasting it in the prescribed performa attached with the admit card.
Apart from this, also bring a parallel passport size photo which will be used to paste on the attendance sheet. The candidate will have to sign himself in front of the examiner. Tthumb impression of the left hand will have to be brought from home.
Follow the Dress Code
Candidates have to follow the dress code while appearing for NEET (UG) – 2025. They are not allowed to wear heavy clothes and/or long sleeve shirts / T-shirts or other apparel.
However, in case candidates who have opted for cultural/traditional attire in lieu of dress code while filling up the NEET (UG)-2025 application form and come to the examination centre wearing cultural/traditional attire, they should report at least one hour before the last reporting time i.e. 12.30 PM so that candidates get sufficient time for proper frisking without any inconvenience and to maintain the decorum of the examination. Slippers, sandals with low heels are allowed, preferably simple slippers. Shoes are not allowed. Do not wear any jewellery items.
Complete Exam Schedule at Examination Centre for NEET (UG) – 2025 Exam
Exam Date – 04 May 2025 (Sunday)
- Exam Time and Duration 02.00 PM to 05.00 PM (3 Hours)
- Last Entry into Examination Centre 01.30 PM
- Taking Seat in Examination Hall/Room 01.15 PM
- Announcement of Important Instructions for the Exam day
- Distribution of Test Booklets by Invigilator 01.45 PM
- Writing of Details on Test Booklet by Candidates 01.50 PM
- Start of Examination- 02.00 PM
- End of Examination- 05.00 PM
No candidate shall leave his/her seat or examination room/hall until the examination is over as per the scheduled time. Candidates should not leave the room/hall without handing over their OMR sheet to the invigilator on duty.
Candidates are required to sign the attendance sheet twice at the specified place. First time immediately after the commencement of the examination and second time while handing over their OMR sheet to the invigilator.
Candidates are also required to put their thumb impression at the place provided on the attendance sheet. While filling the OMR, especially check your Roll Number, Test Booklet Number, Paper Code (whichever is mentioned on the first page of the test booklet) very carefully.
Cutting, erasing and overwriting should also not be done on the OMR, as a new OMR is not given. In case of any discrepancy, just inform the invigilator present in the examination hall immediately.
Time Management on the Exam Day
Time management plays a very important role at the examination centre too. Many candidates have their examination centre located 250-300 kms or even far away and they are going to that city for the first time, so such candidates must reach the examination centre between 11 am and 1:15 pm.
If the parents of the candidates are also going with them, then they must also estimate the distance of the examination centre, means of transport, weather of that day, traffic movement and the time it will take to reach.
The gate of the examination centre is closed at 1:30 pm, so ensure your presence before 1:15 pm because in previous years also many candidates reached the centre after the stipulated time limit and were deprived of taking the exam.
