NEET UG 2025 Govt MBBS Seats Increased in Rajasthan

193 Government MBBS Seats now up from 61

Great news has arrived for medical students in Rajasthan. The number of government MBBS seats in the state has seen a historic increase.

According to the latest revised seat matrix released by the Medical Dental Counseling Board, Jaipur, there are now 193 MBBS seats available in government medical colleges, up from only 61 previously.

This represents an increase of over 216 percent in government seats, marking a significant achievement for the state’s medical education sector.

New seat matrix released for Round 3 counseling

The revised list released by the counseling board relates to Round 3 admissions for both MBBS and BDS courses. A total of 2,040 MBBS seats remain vacant in this list. These include 193 government college seats, 1090 private college seats, 403 management quota seats, and 354 NRI quota seats.

The previous seat count was 1855, meaning students now have approximately 185 more seats. This indicates that students will have more opportunities and choices than ever before in this counseling round.

According to education experts, government college seats in the revised seat matrix represent approximately 10 percent of the total vacant seats.

This increase will particularly benefit NEET aspirants from Rajasthan and Kota. Previously, students who were unable to secure admission to government colleges due to high cut-offs have now found new opportunities.

Benefits for students from Kota and Rajasthan

Kota is known as the medical education capital, and thousands of students prepare for the NEET exam every year. This increase in seats is likely to be particularly beneficial for Kota students.

They will now have a better chance of securing admission to government colleges in their home state. Furthermore, local students are given priority in the Home State Quota, further strengthening their chances of selection.

Benefits of Studying in Government Colleges

Not only is MBBS education at government medical colleges affordable, but the education level and medical training are also of high quality.

The fees at government institutions are significantly lower than at private colleges, allowing students from economically weaker and middle-class families to fulfill their dream of becoming a doctor.

Counseling Process and Expected Cut-offs

Experts believe that this increase in seats will have a direct impact on the cutoff for Counseling Round 3. Due to the increased number of seats, the cut-off scores in this round may be slightly lower than before.

This will also provide opportunities to students who lacked sufficient marks in the first two rounds. This means that this time, the chances of selection in the merit list will be higher than ever before.

Impact of the Increase in Seats

The increase in government seats will expand medical education in the state. This will not only provide more students with the opportunity to study, but will also provide the state with more qualified doctors in the coming years.

This move can play a significant role in addressing the shortage of doctors in rural and semi-urban areas.

This decision by the Rajasthan government and the Counseling Board is a commendable step towards strengthening the medical sector.

The increased seats are generating enthusiasm among students, and coaching institutes are also responding positively to this change.

Prospects for the Future

The state government is continuously striving to strengthen the medical education infrastructure. Plans are underway to build new medical colleges and increase seats in existing colleges in the coming years.

This will not only provide more opportunities to students but will also improve the quality of health services.

Many new government medical colleges have been established in Rajasthan in the last few years. This is expected to improve the doctor-population ratio in the state. The increased seats are an important step in this direction.

This increase in government MBBS seats from 61 to 193 is a major change in Rajasthan’s medical education sector.

This will provide relief to thousands of NEET aspirants in the state and allow more students to gain admission to government colleges. This change will be particularly beneficial for students from Kota and other districts.

Ultimately, this move is not only in the interest of students but will also strengthen the state’s healthcare system. In the future, decisions like this will further establish Rajasthan as a leading state in medical education.
