Revised Schedule will be Released Soon
The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has announced a major decision related to the admission process in medical colleges in the country. The second round of the All India 15 percent quota medical-dental counseling held at the national level has been postponed. MCC has made this announcement through latest notifications.
The notification issued by the MCC states that the second round will remain postponed for the time being and its new schedule will be released soon.
In the second notification issued by the MCC, two major reasons have been given behind the postponement of counseling:
Due to both these reasons, MCC had to extend the counseling deadline.
This time a total of 197 MBBS and BDS seats have been included in the counseling process.
With the addition of these seats, both options and opportunities have increased for the candidates. Experts believe that with the arrival of new medical colleges, students will get better options and competition will also be reduced a bit.
According to the schedule already released by MCC:
Counselling was to be held from 3 to 21 September.
The last date for registration was fixed as 9 September.
The facility of choice filling and locking was also available till September 9.
On this basis, the academic session was expected to start in medical colleges across the country from September 22. But now that the second round of counseling has been postponed, this session may get extended.
It is worth noting that earlier also the academic session was to start from September 5, but due to delay in counseling, it was extended to September 22. Now there is a possibility that the session may slip till the beginning of October.
The MCC has clarified that as soon as the addition of new seats and verification of NRI documents is completed, the revised schedule of counseling will be released. It is expected that the new schedule may come by the last week of September. Candidates have been advised to check the notification regularly on the official website of MCC.
