Enthusiasm among Students, Increased Admission Opportunities

The addition of new seats has generated considerable enthusiasm among students. Especially those who were unable to secure a seat in the first two rounds are now hoping for a better chance in the third round.

This amendment could prove to be a “golden chance” for many medical aspirants. He explained that most of the 125 new seats are linked to government medical colleges, which could benefit even lower rankers.

The MCC has also clarified that if a candidate does not join after being allotted seats in Round 3, their seat will be transferred to the next Stray Vacancy Round. Therefore, students should complete the process within the reporting deadline.

What is the Clear Vacancy Seat Matrix?

The Clear Vacancy Seat Matrix is a document released by the MCC before each round. It contains updated information on the vacant seats available in all medical and dental colleges across the country.

According to the Clear Vacancy Matrix released for Round 3—

  • Total Vacant Seats: 5046
  • Previously Vacant Seats: 4921

“The addition of 125 new seats has further strengthened the chances of securing a medical seat. Students who failed in the first two rounds can still secure their dream medical college.”
