Applications are being accepted only online on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates must first complete a new registration, which requires a valid mobile number and email ID.
After logging in, they must enter their personal information, educational details, and exam center preference. They must upload their photo, signature, and required documents in the prescribed size and format.
Finally, after paying the fee online, they must download the confirmation page. This document should be preserved for future reference.

The NEET (UG) 2026 exam will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Candidates can select their preferred language when applying. This feature provides students from different states with the opportunity to take the exam in their mother tongue.

The NEET UG 2026 question paper will be based on Class 12 Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). The questions will be multiple-choice (MCQ) and each question will have four options, from which one correct answer must be chosen.
A total of 180 questions are asked in the exam. Each correct answer carries 4 marks, while each incorrect answer carries a negative marking of 1 mark. No marks are awarded for any question left unanswered, nor are any marks deducted.

Thus, the total maximum marks for the exam is 720. Biology carries the highest weightage, so most candidates pay special attention to this subject. However, a balanced preparation across all three subjects is essential for a good rank.
