Advisory is Related to Updating Aadhaar Card, UDID Card & Caste Certificates
The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday issued an important advisory for NEET UG-2026, the country’s largest entrance examination for medical, dental, AYUSH, and nursing courses.
Students preparing for this entrance examination should read the important guidelines issued before applying. The entrance examination is likely to be held in the first week of May.
The application process may begin in the first week of February 2026 on the official NEET-UG website.
A career counseling expert at Allen Career Institute, said that in the notification issued, the National Testing Agency has declared the Aadhaar card as a major document for NEET UG-2026, where the candidate’s name, date of birth, and gender should match the 10th class certificate.
Therefore, candidates must update their Aadhaar card details before the application forms are released. Candidates belonging to the Physically Challenged and Reserved categories (OBC and EWS) must also update their category certificates. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates can also update their category certificates, although it is not mandatory for them.
The information mentioned in the Aadhaar card (name, date of birth, gender) should be identical to the candidate’s 10th class marksheet/certificate. In addition, the candidate’s photo, address, and biometric information (thumb and fingerprints, and eye iris) must also be updated.
Make sure to make the above corrections in your Aadhaar card before the application process begins. For reserved categories: SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD candidates must also keep their category certificates and UDID cards (if applicable) updated, matching the name and other details mentioned in their 10th-grade mark sheet.
Candidates should check their name, date of birth, address, etc., on the UIDAI website/app, and if there are any errors, they should immediately get them corrected at the nearest Aadhaar card update center.
They should also carry the required original documents with them. The NTA has also released the NEET UG 2026 website. Candidates should keep checking the official website https://neet.nta.nic.in/ for the latest updates.
