Now Applications can be Submitted Until March 11
There’s good news for millions of students preparing for the country’s largest medical entrance exam, NEET UG 2026. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for online applications for NEET UG 2026.
Originally scheduled for March 8, the deadline has now been extended to March 11. This decision will allow students who were unable to submit their forms on time due to technical issues or other reasons to apply.
According to the new deadline, candidates can apply online until 9:00 pm on March 11. The deadline for submitting the application fee has been extended to 11:50 pm on the same day. The application process can be completed through the official website.

Relief for millions of students
NEET UG is the country’s largest medical entrance exam, providing admission to MBBS, BDS, and other medical courses. Every year, millions of students apply for this exam. This year, too, the number of applications is increasing rapidly.
According to career counseling expert of ALLEN Career Institute, the National Testing Agency has decided to extend the application deadline in response to student demand. For the past few days, a large number of students and parents have been demanding an extension. Following this, the agency issued a notification extending the deadline.
So far, approximately 2.2 million candidates have applied for NEET UG 2026. In 2025, approximately 2.276 million students applied for this exam.

Online correction dates will also change
Along with the extension of the application deadline, the online correction window dates will also be changed. According to the earlier notification, candidates were to be given the opportunity to make corrections to their application forms between March 10th and 12th.
However, the application deadline has now been extended to March 11th, so the new correction window dates will be announced later. According to Career Counseling expert at Allen, it is now possible that the correction window will open after March 11th. The National Testing Agency will soon issue a new notification for this.
During the correction window, students will be able to correct errors in their application forms. Therefore, students are advised to carefully check all details before filling out the form.

Technical Issues on the Website in the Final Days
Several technical issues were encountered during the final days of the NEET UG 2026 application process. Many students complained that the application website was down several times, causing significant difficulties in filling out the form.
The website was also temporarily shut down due to maintenance. Furthermore, timeouts were also reported. Many students reported server connection issues, halting the application process midway.
Due to these technical issues, a large number of students were unable to apply on time. The server experienced a sudden surge in load, especially during the final days when most candidates fill out applications.

Increased Server Pressure, Hence the Extended Date
Experts believe that it is normal for a major exam like the NEET UG to experience significant server pressure during the final days of the application process. Millions of students log in to the website simultaneously, often leading to slowdowns or server crashes.
In light of this situation, the National Testing Agency decided to extend the application deadline. This will provide an opportunity to students who were unable to apply due to technical reasons.
