NMC Advises Candidates on Preparation
The Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB), operating under the National Medical Commission (NMC), has officially released the final syllabus for the NEET UG 2026 exam. This syllabus is extremely important for millions of students preparing for the medical entrance exam.
This syllabus released by UGMEB has been made public on the NMC’s official website so that all candidates, coaching institutes, and educational institutions can update their preparation and study materials in a timely manner.
The notice issued by the Director of UGMEB on December 22, 2025, clearly states that the syllabus for NEET UG 2026 has been finalized. This notice advises all stakeholders, especially candidates, to prepare according to the updated syllabus to avoid any inconvenience during the exam.
Following this, the NMC Secretary wrote to the heads of all medical institutions across the country, referring to this notice and directing them to prepare for the NEET UG 2026 exam (academic session 2026-27) based on this new syllabus.
Questions in the NEET UG exam are primarily asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The new syllabus divides these three subjects into clear units.
A total of 20 units have been included in Physics for NEET UG 2026. The major topics are as follows:
This syllabus is aligned with the NCERT syllabus for Classes 11 and 12.
Chemistry is divided into three parts—Physical, Inorganic, and Organic Chemistry. This section comprises a total of 20 units.

NMC has clearly stated that NEET UG 2026 preparation should now be done only according to the new syllabus. Studying based on the old syllabus or guesswork may harm the exam.
