Several Innovations & New Practices Have Been Launched Under the National Education Policy
With a view to provide relief to the students from school bags, a new innovation has been made under the NEP. Recommendation has been made under NEP to reduce the weight of the school bag and increase the academic and non-academic activities away from the classroom.
The objective of the No-Bag Day is to relieve students from the practice of cramming in the education system. No-Bag Day is expected to ensure holistic development of the students and develop logical thinking and experimental learning in the students.

Now No bag-day will be observed for 10 days in an academic session in the CBSE affiliated schools. Under No Bag-Day initiative, students will be taken to the historical, tourist places, Art Galleries and cultural centres. Students will get the practical knowledge of the day-to-day life during such field visits.
A report will be prepared on such field visits of the CBSE students so that the students can write about their field visit experience. Students will also get the first-hand experience of the soil, plants and heritage. Students will also visit the historical and tourist places, cultural centres, and art galleries.

CBSE has issued a 108 page detailed guidelines regarding the activities to be carried out during No-bag day in the CBSE schools. The guidelines assert to reduce the load of school bags on the students. The guidelines intend to provide practical knowledge of the life to the students.
CBSE also wants that students should explore opportunities in life and also can identify their career options. The No-bag day will increase the interest of the students for coming to the school.
