NTA Issues Advisory: Candidate Name Matching in Aadhar Card & Class 10 Mark Sheets Not Necessary Now

Registration for JEE Main to Continue till 22 November

The application process for the first January session of the country’s biggest engineering entrance exam JEE-Main is underway. In the last 8 days, more than 2 lakh 50 thousand students have applied. The last date for application is 22 November.

Student were facing difficulty in Application Process

A large number of such students are coming forward, especially from Maharashtra and Gujarat boards and also from other boards, who are not able to apply due to mismatch in their name and the name given in the Aadhar card.

This problem has arisen because this year the Aadhar number of the student has been sought as the identity proof in the application which has been linked to the name of the students in the application.

If the student fills his name correctly after filling the wrong Aadhar number, then the application is not complete and if the student fills the correct Aadhar number after filling the wrong name, then also the application is not getting completed.

NTA has issued a notice in this regard that now such students whose name matches with their Aadhar card can fill in their Aadhar number in the Aadhar number column during application and click on the pop-up window and fill in their name as per the name written on their Aadhar card and complete the application process.

Confusion over 75 percent board eligibility

IIT Kanpur has not released the board eligibility for admission in IIT. Only the names of the boards have been released whereas earlier in the information bulletin of JEE Main, the board eligibility of 75 percent and the eligibility of top 20 percentile as per category has been released.

In such a situation, confusion has arisen among the students that whether the JoSAA counselling process is common for admission in IIT NIT? In such a situation, the board eligibility for admission in IIT and NIT will be different because IIT Kanpur has said that it will release the board eligibility for admission in IIT through JEE Advanced in due course.

OBC and EWS students in trouble

Meanwhile, the problems of OBC and EWS students during application remain the same. There are thousands of students who are unable to apply because along with category certificate ID and issue date, the name of the officer who issued the certificate is also sought. It is not possible to apply without providing this information. No information is being released in this regard by NTA.
