The National Testing Agency (NTA) released a notification against fake websites receiving the online application and fee payments for JEE Main 2021.

From a few complaints received at the NTA Helpdesk/Call Centre, it is discovered that some unscrupulous elements have created a false URL website: jeeguide.co.in on behalf of JEE Mains 2021, from which online applications and fee payments from interested candidates are sought for JEE (MAIN) 2021. That said, in the URL, an email address: info@jeeguide.co.in and mobile number: 9311245307 have also been provided for receiving communications in this regard.

In the notification NTA has cleared that “The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been set up by the Government of India (GOI) of the Ministry of Education (formerly known as MHRD) as an independent/autonomous and self-sustained leading testing body to perform effective, transparent and international quality tests in order to determine the competence of candidates for admission to leading institutions of higher education.

NTA has been performing the JEE (Main) Joint Entrance Test since 2019. There may be several more such websites from which the aspiring candidates for JEE (MAIN)-2021 could attempt to mislead unscrupulous elements.

It is explained in the above that neither NTA nor any of its employees have any link with the above JEE MAIN 2021 URL, EMAIL and Smartphone. In the wider public interest, it is further clarified that the only genuine/official website for receiving online applications and examination fees from aspiring JEE (MAIN)-2021 candidates is: jeemain.nta.nic.in.

NTA, for its part, is going to file a report against the aforementioned bogus website with the Delhi Police Cyber Crime Unit. However, it is prudent for potential candidates and their parents/guardians not to be fooled by such websites or agents/elements behind them. They are also recommended to file a formal report with their nearest police station/cybercrime unit, under the same note to NTA at: grivance@nta.ac.in, as well as when they come across certain false websites or other unscrupulous agents/elements.
