Olympiad Performers can seek Admission in IIT Madras without JEE Advanced

IIT Madras has launched ‘ScOpE’ category for granting such Admissions

Now admission in the coveted IIT Madras is possible without taking JEE Advanced but with a condition.

The students, who would be eligible to seek admission in the undergraduate programs of IIT Madras without JEE Advanced, must have performed excellently in the National and International Olympiads. Olympiads are competitive examinations which evaluates and test students in various academic skills and subjects.

IIT Madras is going to provide admission to the performers of the National and International Olympiads without JEE Advanced examination through its ‘Science Olympiad Excellence’ (ScOpE) named admission category.

Under ScOpE admission program, the admission will be given on two supernumerary seats per program including one exclusive seat for women students. The academic year for admissions under ScOpE will be 2025-2026.

Registrations for Admission from 3rd June

The registration for the ScOpE admission at IIT Madras would commence from 3rd June 2025. The detailed guidelines about ScOpE admission can be accessed from the website- https://ugadmissions.iitm.ac.in/scope.

Meanwhile, the admission process for IIT Madras ScOpE program will be conducted through its own portal, (https://jeeadv.iitm.ac.in/scope).

The allocation of the seats will be done on the basis of ScOpE Rank List (SRL) which will be prepared on the basis of the performance and achievements of the students in 5 Olympiads (Biology. Informatics, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The eligibility criteria for ScOpE will be similar to the JEE Advanced examination like the Olympiad performer must have passed class 12.

Also the student desiring to seek admission in IIT Madras under ‘ScOpE’ also must not have taken admission in any IIT in the past. The aspirants can refer to the website of ScOpE for more information on eligibility.

7. Electrical Engineering
