Permitted Items, Barred Items & Dress Code for CBSE Class 10, 12 Exams

Class 10, 12 CBSE Board Examinations 2025 are Commencing from 15 February

The Class 10 and 12 CBSE Board Exams 2025 will start next week from 15 February, 2025. While the Class 10 examination will conclude on 18 March, 2025, Class 12 examination will end on 4 April, 2025. CBSE has issued important guidelines for the students regarding the board examinations.

CBSE Guidelines for the Board Students

Now when very few days are left for the start of the CBSE Class 10 and class 12 board examinations, students must have the knowledge about the important rules and guidelines issued by the CBSE for them. CBSE has issued important rules and guidelines for students which they should follow in the board examinations.

List of Permitted Items for Board Exams

Here is the list of permitted items for the CBSE class 10, and 12 board examinations:

  1. It is mandatory for the regular students to carry their admit card and school identity card.
  2. Admit card and any government-issued photo ID will be required for the private board students.
  3. Students can carry stationary items with them for the examination which include writing pad, scale, eraser, gel pen/ballpoint pen/royal blue ink pen/blue pen, geometry/pencil box.
  4. Students can carry transparent water bottle them and can wear analogue watch in hand.
  5. Since students will have to travel down to the examination so they can carry metro card, and bus pass. Also they must keep some money with them.

List of Prohibited Items for the Board Exams

There are some restricted items for the board exams which include:

  1. Student taking board examination is expected not to carry barred items like pieces of paper or any textual material (printed or written).
  2. Electronic equipments like electronic pens/scanners, pen drives, log tables and Calculators are also prohibited at the board examination centres.
  3. Other barred electronic equipments like mobile phones, smart watches, cameras, Bluetooth devices, health bands, earphones, microphones, and pagers are strictly restricted at the exam centre.
  4. Other prohibited items include personal items like goggles, pouches, handbags, and wallets.
  5. Students will not be allowed to carry any open or packed food items. However, items required for diabetic patients will not be disallowed.
  6. Student also should not carry anything which could be used for unfair means.

CBSE Board Exam 2025 Dress Code

For safety and security purposes, CBSE has also earmarked the dress code for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board examinations 2025.

Dress Code for the Regular Students:

Since uniform is an indication of the identification and discipline so the regular students will have to wear their school uniform on the exam day.

Dress Code for the Private Students:

CBSE has advised the private students to wear light clothes in the exam since they will be comfortable for the long examination duration.
